Informations complémentaires
The Lotus 23B represents the first evolution of the Lotus 23 (a “C” model was sold in the United States starting in 1965). This version is equipped with the new 1558 cc Twin Cam engine, producing 160 hp for a light weight of just 480 kg.
This vehicle was delivered to the United States to Eric Anderson, who entered the car in the USRRC Pacific Raceways USA competitions in 1966 and 1967, as well as in the ACCS events at Westwood Motorsport Park in Canada during those same years.
The car was then imported to the United Kingdom in the 1970s, where it competed in numerous races between 1977 and 1984. In 1983-1984, it was driven by Stephen Mitchell. It was later sold to Willy and Patrick Behar in London, then to Patrick Lansard, Jean-Pierre Mondonnet (1985), and finally to Robert Sarraihl in 1993.
The car underwent a full "nut and bolt" restoration between 2002 and 2004, during which a 63-liter fuel tank was installed. It was sold to its most recent owner in 2006 and took part in the Historical Endurance Challenge for the next three seasons.
Since its acquisition, the engine, transmission, and clutch have all been overhauled. The car comes with its original FIA papers, issued by the FFSA. It is also certified as road-legal.
